From Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary to Disneyland Resort's Disney100 Celebration, there's no shortage of things to celebrate when it comes to Disney! Beginning January 27, 2023 We see you 2023 and we're ready! We can’t wait to welcome new & returning guests, celebrate all of the many upcoming New Orleans festivities (hello, Mardi Gras!), and host some of life’s most special events.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open to guests on January 27! The newly reimagined Toontown will open later in 2023.

"Magic Happens" Parade returns on February 24, 2023.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway Opens

On January 27, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens at Disneyland Resort! And the newly-reimagined Toontown will open later in Spring 2023.

Castle Makeover

Sleeping Beauty Castle gets a makeover fit for 100 years with blue and iridescent platinum as the color scheme. Be on the lookout for the three good fairies above the castle entrance!

Magic Happens Parade

The Magic Happens Parade returns on February 24, 2023. It was only able to run for a couple weeks before the park closure due to COVID-19, so we are excited for its return!

Two New Nighttime Spectaculars

Two new night-time spectaculars will debut: “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland Park and “World of Color – One” in Disney California Adventure. During both “World of Color – ONE” and “Wondrous Journeys,” your MagicBand+ will come to life with dancing lights and vibrations synchronized to the shows.

Each evening at Disneyland park, “Wondrous Journeys” transforms Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas with lighting effects, customized projections and more. Wondrous Journeys features nods to EVERY animated film released by Disney Studios over the past century including classics such as "Peter Pan" and new fan-favorites like "Moana." Expect everything in between, and even Baymax in his red suit flying above Sleeping Beauty Castle! Wondrous Journeys will happen at 9:30pm starting January 27, 2023. The show lasts for 13 minutes.

World of Color - One will take place in Disney California Adventure. This show will weave a tale that shows one small action can lead to many bigger ones with inspirational motifs from "The Lion King," "Coco" and more. This new show will be the first nighttime spectacular at Disneyland to feature characters, music, and moments from Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, the Avengers, and Star Wars all in the same show!

You’ll be able to access the viewing area for “World of Color – ONE” through the virtual queue system* available only via the Disneyland app. Distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at 12 p.m. PT, daily (subject to availability) and is available for guests who have entered Disney California Adventure park for the day or have entered Disneyland park with a Park Hopper ticket. Joining the virtual queue is not required, but it is highly recommended as walk-up viewing options for each performance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Platinum-Infused Décor and Limited-Time Offerings

Both theme parks, the Downtown Disney District and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be adorned in beautiful, platinum-infused décor. Above is an artist’s concept of the elegant embellishments on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure park, which will sparkle with platinum banners and Disney100 medallions.

Around the resort, you’ll find platinum statues and medallions – which make great photo opportunities! On Main Street, U.S.A., you may find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals in platinum-inspired looks designed to reflect the optimism and creativity that are at the heart of everything Disney.

The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder

The Disney Gallery located on Main Street U.S.A at Disneyland Park will house a new exhibit inspired by Walt Disney’s vision for Disneyland to be where his films come to life. Inside, you’ll see beautiful artwork created by original Disney animators for some of Walt’s early films, alongside artwork concepted by original Disney Imagineers to recreate those stories in the park. The exhibit will also display an animator’s desk, a model of a multi-plane camera and more. It’s a magnificent tribute to Disney films that became Disneyland Resort attractions, park experiences that later inspired Disney films and the rich traditions they both share.
